Course Objectives/Topics

• The concept of the derivative.
• Derivatives of algebraic, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric
• Model and solve optimization problems (minimization and maximization).
• Calculate approximate values of functions, sketch graphs.
• The concept of the definite integral.
• Antiderivates and the evaluation of integrals. Substitution.
• The fundamental theorem of calculus.

Grading Policy

• 3 Mid-semester exams worth 20% each (Feb 16, Mar 16, Apr 11)
• Homework worth 15% (lowest 2 scores are dropped),
• Final exam worth 25%

Final Exams

All final exams will be held in Boyd Graduate Studies Building, Room 222!

• The final exam for section 43142 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2 12:00 - 3:00 pm.
• The final exam for section 43008 is scheduled for Thursday, May 4 3:30 - 6:30 pm.
